The Fake House in the Village of Rogi

A charming and unexpected attraction appeared in the village of Rogi in 2019 — a “fake house” constructed specifically as a film set for the movie “Bird’s Milk,” a drama produced by the Russian film studio “Koktebel” and directed by a young filmmaker from Tiraspol, Yevgeny Maryan. The house was built in a genuinely picturesque location near a waterfall, commanding a gorgeous view over the Dniester River — a setting that made it ideal for the camera and continues to draw visitors long after filming concluded.

When the cinematographers wrapped production and departed, they left the house and its contents as a gift to the residents of Rogi village — a generous legacy that has given this small community a new cultural attraction with a fascinating story behind it. The house now contains a collection of folk art and traditional household items, with employees of the local House of Culture adding further handicraft pieces to the display and conducting guided tours for visitors, transforming this former film set into a living showcase of regional folk traditions and artistic heritage.
