Church of Saint Paraskeva of the Balkans

In the northern reaches of Pridnestrovie, set against a backdrop of rolling hills and picturesque forest in one of the most authentic villages of the Kamenka district, this unusual church occupies a setting of remarkable natural beauty. The building immediately distinguishes itself from other Orthodox churches in the region through its distinctive architectural character and the appealing simplicity of its execution: the walls are clad in natural stone, while the roof of the bell tower and the dome are painted a vivid blue — a color choice that creates a striking impression of harmony and unity with the surrounding sky and natural landscape.

The history of Christian worship in Valya-Adynka village stretches back to the early 17th century, when the first wooden church was built here. In 1847, parishioners came together to fund the construction of a new stone church — a single-domed rotunda design that has survived to the present day, making it one of the rare round-plan churches in the entire region. Long-term restoration work began in 2008, during which the building underwent a comprehensive overhaul and repainting program. Following the completion of this restoration effort, the church was formally consecrated, returning this historic building to active religious service for the faithful community of Valya-Adynka.
