Monument to the First Tractor Drivers

Erected in 1978 on Komsomolskaya Street near the local history museum, this monument honors the pioneering machine operators of the Voronkovo MTS (Machine and Tractor Station), established in 1929. An authentic KhTZ-type tractor mounted on a two-meter concrete pedestal serves as the monument’s centerpiece — a fitting tribute of labor glory to the men and women who first brought mechanized agriculture to this region.

The Voronkovo MTS earned remarkable national recognition for its contributions to Soviet agricultural development: by decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on February 20, 1940, the station was awarded the Order of Lenin — the highest honor the Motherland could bestow — in recognition of its outstanding services in advancing agriculture. This monument ensures that the legacy of these pioneering tractor drivers and their nationally celebrated institution remains visible and honored in the heart of Rybnitsa.
