A beautiful and spacious building occupies a central position in Kitskany village — the rural House of Culture, constructed in 1965 with a capacity of 500 seats. This institution has long served as the hub of community life in Kitskany, functioning as a center for communication, spiritual development and relaxation for the village’s residents.
The House of Culture’s greatest point of pride is the monumental painting “Hospitable Moldavia,” created in 1968 by the celebrated I.T. Bogdescu — People’s Artist of Moldova, People’s Artist of the USSR and full member of the Russian Academy of Arts — working in collaboration with artist L.B. Belyaev. This remarkable work of monumental art reflects the broader Soviet-era tradition of commissioning significant artistic commissions for rural cultural institutions, and its presence here has earned the House of Culture considerable recognition, including the prestigious first category designation.
The institution actively fulfills its mission through cultural work spanning traditional folk art, amateur artistic expression, and a broad range of cultural and leisure activities — ensuring that the interests and needs of the local population in the field of cultural enrichment are consistently met and celebrated.
