The House of Culture in the Village of Parcany

The House of Culture in Parcany village opened its doors on May 1, 1959, established on the basis of the collective farm named after Lenin, and stands today as one of the largest cultural buildings in the entire Slobodzeya district. In 2013, the appointment of Lyudmila Bakhchevan as Director marked a turning point for the institution, as a fresh wave of energy and new ideas transformed the cultural establishment, with young specialists joining the team and bringing contemporary approaches to culture and creativity alongside the institution’s well-established traditions.

Today, the creative collectives of the House of Culture are actively performing both within the republic and on international stages, representing Parcany and Pridnestrovie with distinction. The defining mission of this institution, however, goes beyond simply introducing new forms of cultural and leisure activity — at its heart lies a deep commitment to the preservation of Bulgarian folk culture, with a particular emphasis on instilling this spiritual heritage in the younger generation through rituals, traditional folk festivals, choreography and vocal art.

This mission carries special significance because Parcany is the only Bulgarian village in all of Pridnestrovie, making the House of Culture here not merely a local entertainment venue but the primary guardian and living expression of an entire community’s cultural identity. The collectives have continuously raised their training standards, diversified their repertoire and expanded their membership — achievements that have enabled them to demonstrate consistently high levels of artistic and organizational excellence at every performance they give.
