Botanical Garden

Established in 1959 on the initiative of Academician P.I. Dvornikov, the Botanical Garden of Tiraspol spans 20.5 hectares on the eastern outskirts of the city, housing one of the most diverse and continually expanding plant collections in the entire republic. Beyond its role as a place of beauty and recreation, the garden also serves a practical purpose — growing saplings used for the beautification of cities and districts throughout Pridnestrovie.

At the heart of the garden lies its most celebrated feature: a magnificent rose garden showcasing more than 200 distinct varieties, drawing visitors who come specifically to wander among these extraordinary blooms. The dendrological section in the north-western part of the grounds is equally impressive, housing rare coniferous and deciduous species gathered from various corners of the world. For those with a more specialized interest, dedicated collections of spice and medicinal plants round out the garden’s botanical offerings, alongside a section featuring species listed on the endangered plants register — giving the garden genuine conservation significance alongside its obvious aesthetic appeal.

In April, a spectacular tulip field transforms the garden into a sea of vivid color, while June brings a photogenic lavender field that has become one of the most popular spots in Tiraspol for photography.
