Events in Bendery Mark 110th Anniversary of Nicholas II’s Visit

On May 24, Bendery will hold a series of events commemorating the 110th anniversary of the imperial Romanov family’s visit to the city.

Program of commemorative events:

1. Divine Liturgy
   8:45 AM — Welcoming of the Ruling Bishop
   9:00 AM — Start of the service at the Transfiguration Cathedral, Tiraspol-Dubossary Diocese
2. Religious Procession
   11:00 AM — Route: Transfiguration Cathedral — Liberation Square — Suvorov Street — Cavriago Street (former military hospital building) — the V.I. Postoykin Bendery Art College, Tiraspol-Dubossary Diocese
3. Special Postmark Cancellation Ceremony
   Following the procession, at the V.I. Postoykin Bendery Art College, Tiraspol-Dubossary Diocese
4. Opening of a Student Exhibition
   An exhibition of works by students of the V.I. Postoykin Bendery Art College will also open.

In honor of the anniversary, Bendery’s trolleybuses will feature a photo exhibition dedicated to the imperial family, allowing passengers to view archival images connected to the Romanovs’ visit to Bendery, along with photographs of family members. A themed audio broadcast will also run, and a commemorative banner will be displayed near Eximbank.
