Family, Love, and Fidelity Day in Transnistria: Concerts, Festivals, and Folk Celebrations

Cities across Transnistria have prepared festive programs to mark Family, Love, and Fidelity Day, celebrated on July 8. This year’s lineup includes concerts, festivals, a mock wedding ceremony, workshops, and more — all that’s left is to choose where to take the family.

Tiraspol

Those wanting to begin the celebration with an Orthodox tradition can join a religious procession in Tiraspol honoring Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom on July 8. The route runs from the N.S. Aronetskaya State Drama and Comedy Theater to the Intercession Chapel (the square by the “Tiraspol” cinema). Participants gather at 4:30 PM, with the procession starting at 5:00 PM.

Families looking to spend the evening together should head to Catherine Park, where the festival “Family — A Magical Symbol of Life” opens at 5:00 PM. Visitors can enjoy a concert with vocal and dance performances, along with a tribute to couples who have preserved their love and mutual respect over many years.

A painting workshop will run near the stage for anyone who wants to take part. Fans of lighthearted fun can enjoy a playful mock wedding ceremony, “Pretend Wedding,” near the dry rotunda, while art lovers can browse an exhibition of fine and decorative arts along the cascading fountain promenade.

Families with children can enjoy the “Fun to Play Together” games program near the weeping rotunda. For those who prefer active recreation, family sports competitions will take place on the football field starting at 6:00 PM, with a quest and the “Dads’ Turf — Moms’ Turf” contest happening at the same time near the pier.

Bendery

For an outdoor summer evening in Bendery, head to Borisovsky Square from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM for a concert program and open-air film screening.

The week’s main event, however, is the festival at Alexander Nevsky Fortress Park, taking place July 11. The program includes themed zones, interactive areas, and a concert, running from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Slobodzeya

Slobodzeya has a packed evening program planned. On July 8 at 6:00 PM, a prayer service will be held at the Intercession Chapel, followed by a stroller parade along Frunze Street.

At 6:30 PM, the “We Are Together” ceremony will honor couples celebrating their golden wedding anniversary. The celebration continues with the concert “Everything Begins with Family” at 7:00 PM, and wraps up at the summer cinema with a games program starting at 8:00 PM.

If it rains on the day of the event, the thanksgiving service will be held at the chapel, and the remaining program will move to the district Palace of Culture.

Grigoriopol

Grigoriopol will mark the holiday at two venues. On July 11 at 6:00 PM, performing groups will present the program “The Round Dance of Transnistria Spins On” at the “Green Theater.”

The celebration continues at 8:00 PM at the square by the local Palace of Culture and Sports, with the concert “Family Is What Matters Most” and folk festivities featuring songs and dances.

Dubossary

Dubossary’s festive evening takes place in Energetikov Park, where a concert program honoring family couples begins at 7:00 PM on July 8.

Visitors can enjoy photo zones, children’s games, workshops, and body art, with the evening wrapping up with a disco from 8:30 PM to 10:00 PM.

Rybnitsa

On July 8, from 10:55 AM to 11:30 AM, the Center for Children’s and Youth Creativity will host three workshops dedicated to the holiday’s main symbols — the chamomile flower and family.

Fans of active recreation can join a relay race at local Sports School No. 1 during the same time slot.

By evening, festivities move to Victory Square, where an entertainment program with themed photo zones and children’s games opens at 6:30 PM.

At 7:00 PM, the “White Chamomile” event will take place, followed by a concert by local performing groups. The celebration closes with a light show.

Dnestrovsk

Festivities in Dnestrovsk begin at 10:00 AM on July 8 with a sidewalk chalk drawing contest at the square by the “Energetik” Palace of Culture, followed by a screening of the family film “Uncle Fyodor, His Dog, and His Cat” (“Prostokvashino”) at the cultural center.

From 6:00 PM, the square will fill with colorful photo zones, games, and interactive areas, along with mobile vendors.

The main events take place in the evening: the concert “Family — The Strength and Pride of Transnistria” begins at 7:00 PM, followed by the “Chamomile Mood” disco at 8:30 PM.
