Jazz Dialogue

In honor of International Jazz Day, this concert offers a journey through time set to a jazz accompaniment — from the warm, intimate sound of early 20th-century New Orleans and Chicago jazz, through the energetic swing era of the 1930s, to the refined, iconic jazz standards that spanned the whole of the century.

Rhythm, harmony, and positive energy form the musical foundation of this unique journey across jazz styles and eras. The state ensemble “Liberty” joins forces with the jazz vocal quintet “DDVoices” — two ensembles that complement one another through their musical phrasing, rhythmic flair, and shared commitment to preserving the traditions of jazz’s many styles and directions.
