Opening of the “Martisor 2026” International Arts Festival
On March 1, 2026, at 3:00 PM, the “Martisor 2026” International Arts Festival will open as part of the Year of the Transnistrian People.
Each year, Transnistria hosts the International Arts Festival “Martisor” from March 1 to 10. Its opening ceremony traditionally brings together the republic’s state ensembles alongside some of the finest creative groups from cities and districts across the country. Every performing group adds its own distinctive note to the celebration, highlighting the diversity and richness of melody, rhythm, and dance.
“Martisor” unfolds as a palette of colors on painters’ canvases, a burst of emotion in theatrical performances, depth and beauty in literary readings, and every form of artistic expression — dance, song, and melodies across languages and genres. It’s a kaleidoscope of impressions where everyone can find something that resonates with their own spirit.
Notably, all the ensemble directors taking part in the opening share a commitment to preserving the roots of national culture, fostering in younger generations a sense of connection to the region’s folk traditions, a love for its history, and the shared spirit and cultural unity of the Transnistrian people.
Venue: Palace of the Republic, Main Hall, 96 October 25th Street, Tiraspol.
