Aquatir Sturgeon Complex

The Aquatir Sturgeon Complex, opened in 2006, stands as one of the most unique and fascinating enterprises in all of Pridnestrovie — a dedicated facility for producing natural black caviar from sterlet, bester, Russian sturgeon and beluga. Fish breeding takes place entirely within recirculation systems, a sophisticated approach that completely eliminates the influence of external environmental factors and ensures consistently controlled conditions throughout the cultivation process.

The complex’s impressive facilities include general-purpose fish breeding installations, a modern fish processing workshop and a state-of-the-art laboratory. Design capacity reaches 50-80 tons of marketable fish alongside 5 tons of caviar annually, while the processing workshop can handle up to 500 tons of produce each year across a range of more than one hundred distinct items.

In 2014, Aquatir achieved FSSC 22000 certification — one of the most rigorous food safety standards in the industry — underlining the enterprise’s unwavering commitment to quality. Today, the complex exports its premium products to the USA, Romania, the UK, Germany, Japan, Indonesia, Estonia and beyond, establishing Aquatir as a genuinely internationally recognized producer of world-class sturgeon products.

The complex offers guided tours both with and without tasting sessions, making it an exceptional and memorable visit for anyone curious about this remarkable enterprise.
